The Schengen Countries:

The locals or the Citizens of St. Kitts and Nevis can spend around 90 days within 180 days in The Schengen Countries. This makes it easy for people who want to take leisure or a business trip to Europe.

The duration of the stay is similar to what you would otherwise get with a Schengen visa. However, the passport validity is at least two times longer. This means that the visa issuance is done for up to 5 years, whereas the passport is renewed after 10 years.

Visiting Great Britain

The islands of St. Kitts and Nevis are also members of the Commonwealth of Nations led by the Queen of Great Britain. This is why St. Kitts and Nevis citizens can freely visit the UK without any visa. The duration of the stay is up to 180 days straight.

It has become quite an attractive option for people who want to visit the UK. This is also feasible for those who want to raise their children according to British culture and education.

Visiting Singapore & Hong Kong

Visiting both Singapore and Hong Kong without a visa is beneficial for people who have business ventures and interests in these countries. However, the duration of the stay is limited. It is just a month in Singapore and is up to 90 days maximum in Hong Kong. But, it is still good enough for young entrepreneurs as they can visit these countries frequently without any hindrance.

How about a visit to the United States?

You can get a tourist visa for up to 10 years to the United States. However, this doesn’t fulfil the needs of the investors. For the tourist visa, citizens have to contact the American consulate. However, if citizens hold a Russian passport, those individuals can only get a visa for 3 years to the United States with a complicated registration process.

Citizenship of St. Kitts and Nevis:

It is not difficult to become a citizen of St. Kitts and Nevis if you are an investor. The government of St. Kitts and Nevis has been running a Citizenship by Investment program for a long time to attract investors for the country’s growth and development. The investors can apply for citizenship with their spouse, children or any dependant family member, given that they can invest in real estate or contribute a significant amount as a donation to the country.

St. Kitts and Nevis makes a great second passport option for visa-free entry in more than 100 European countries. The passport is delivered in 6 months after the investment is done.

Here are the following benefits you would enjoy being a St. Kitts and Nevis citizen:

Citizenship Benefits:

  • Visa-free travel to all EU countries that come under Schengen visa. The list also includes the UK, Ireland and Switzerland.

St. Kitts and Nevis Passport is an affordable route to gaining a second passport and has one of the best reputations in the world.

What’s New in 2022?

St. Kitts and Nevis’s citizenship by investment program is operational without any Covid-19 pandemic disruption in 2022. The citizenship program also accepts online applications.

The main applicant can apply for siblings under the family application. However, the following conditions must be met:

  • Under 30 years of age
  • Must be single without any children
  • Financially independent
  • Covid-19 discount

Important Changes:

The St. Kitts and Nevis passport is also the most powerful CBI passport in the Caribbean. The country list is always expanding thanks to the efforts made by the St. Kitts and Nevis government.

19 countries have been added to the visa-free country list since 2015. The government has also tightened the application checks adding fingerprinting and biometric requirements.

Unlike the other countries, St Kitts doesn’t require any Oath from the applicants.

The amount for investment in real estate has been reduced to $200,000. The property needs to be held for a minimum of 7 years.

The government has also implemented escrow legislation for protecting investors.

Investment in real estate is affordable compared to the donation option for big families.

The biometric e-passport issued by St. Kitts and Nevis stay valid for 10 years according to the CBI program terms and conditions. You can collect the passport from the embassy or by an authorised agent.

St. Kitts and Nevis Citizenship by Investment Program Requirements:

To become a legal citizen of St. Kitts and Nevis, you should apply for the government’s Citizenship by investment program. Under this program, you must make a substantial contribution to the country.

The application process requires detailed background checks before granting full citizenship to the applicants and their families.

To qualify for citizenship, the applicant should be an adult more than 18 years of age. The following two options are available to the applicant:

You must contribute $150,000 to the Sustainable Growth Fund as an individual applicant and $195,000 for a family of up to 4 members. $20,000 is applicable for each sibling, with an additional $10,000 for every family member, excluding spouse or sibling.

The other option is to invest in real estate. The minimum value needs to be $200,000 from an approved real estate development.

Process and Time Frame of St. Kitts and Nevis Citizenship by Investment Program:

St. Kitts & Nevis Citizenship by Investment Unit (CIU) processes all the citizenship applications. There is an option to accelerate the application process to a 45 to 60-day time frame. The CIU thoroughly examines the application before scheduling an interview of the applicant. However, an interview is not necessary.

CIU does all the background checks, and an application is declined if the applicant misses any important information or makes a false statement. The applicant must complete the required government forms, available only from an authorised service provider. The program’s documentary requirements are straightforward and affordable.

In most cases, the applicants visit the islands to check the real estate before investing in it. However, this is not a prerequisite of the application process and only takes three to four months from application submission to CIU approval. In the case of the real estate option, the time frame varies according to the project’s development. This is why it’s important to select a complete real estate project that supports the citizenship application properly.

Once the application is approved, the real estate funds, SGF contribution, government fees, and other fees are released to different concerned parties. The prime minister signs the registration certificate afterwards to award citizenship status. After the registration certificate is issued, the applicant becomes eligible for the passport application process.

Becoming a citizen of St. Kitts and Nevis is not difficult. You just need to have the funds available. Once you become a full citizen, you get visa-free access to around 157 countries globally, truly amazing!
